Supported by Cachar forest Division of Assam Forest Department, the ‘Borail Eco-camp’ is a Community initiative of Indiranagar village, that is a small hamlet of 32 families situated at the fringe of the ‘Borail forest’, on the banks of Doloo river. Of Khasi origin, the villagers are a judicious mix of traditional practices and modern thought process brought about by education. The youngsters all speak English, sing Khasi songs and are expert at climbing tall supari trees and catching fish with bare hands.
The Borail Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the lesser known protected areas and a hidden treasure amongst the luscious green forests in Assam. Located in the Barak river valley in Southern Assam, the sanctuary also houses indigenous people who have been leading a nature integrated lifestyle and are keen to showcase their native culture and traditional practices. Here’s a chance to experience this pristine natural Shangri-la and create once in a lifetime memories.

When you have seen much and feel as a know all; try climbing a Supari tree. Have a fun match with the local boys with good natured cheering goading you on, learn to make interesting artifacts out of abundant bamboo.
Khaspur was Kachari Kings’ capital. Constructed in 1690 AD, Khaspur of today holds the ruins of ancient times to highlight the historical significance of the place. Among the ruins, The Sun Gate and The Lion Gate are particularly popular with the tourists.
Sri Kancha Kanti Devi temple is a beautiful and peaceful abode of the Shakti. Venerated as a combined form of both Durga & Kali, the supremely powerful Devi herself commanded the Kachari king to build a temple for her, that is today a place of great faith and visitation.
Maniharan Tunnel is situated in Bhuban hills. It is believed that Lord Krishna had used this tunnel. Maniharan temple, which is dedicated to Krishna, is seen here. Underneath the tunnel flows the Triveni River, which is considered holy by pilgrims.
Sonbeel is a beautiful large natural body reservoir housing unique fresh water Mangroves - Barringtonia which are an important aspect of this ecosystem along with large expanse of marsh, offering refuge to a wide variety of resident and migratory birds.
